Ricordia attached to 2 rocks

I've seen it a few times where a ricordia, mostly yumas, are attached to one main rock but have a string like piece attaching to another rock. If you cut the 'string' will the piece that is attached to the second piece of rock grow into another ricordia or does it need a piece of the mouth to turn into another? I thought I remember reading that you can cut the 'top' off and the remaining stump or base bit will grow into another ricordia.

Yep. Yumas usually reproduce by moving to a different spot and leaving a small part of the foot and it grows into another Yuma. You can cut it off if you want but it'll naturally separate itself from it anyway if you don't.
