Is there a specific way or a specific location recommended for placing a lone green ricordia polyp in your tank?

Light flow and the location depend on your lighting... better on the sand if you have strong light...

Yup, what Dani said. If it is unattached, try placing it in something with crushed coral so it'll attach, then you can glue it to a bigger rock so it doesn't get lost.
