ricordia question

What is the best placement for green ricordia? I have had them in low light, high light, and no light. I have 3 250w phoenix 14k hqi's, 4 420 t5's , and 4 460 t5's. The tank is a 180 gallon. Thanks.

They seem to be pretty tolerant to all types of light...I have some under under 6500K twisty bulbs that are doing well...I have seen some "fade/bleach" a bit in really intense light...other than that they seem to do well under most types of lighting.

Sounds like your running the current outer orbit MH & T5 Fixture. Ive got a rock full of blue rics dead center in my 180 halfway in the center in the tank. My tank is a 180 also.

yes, that is the light i have. We have had them about six months and they haven't grown. They still have their color, just no growth. They are placed in the center of the tank now, and have been there for quite a while. is there a supplement i need for them? all my other corals are doing fine, and i have sps, lps, and softies.

In my exp with rics they seem to do best in a med to lower flow, with good lighting, & water slightly on the dirtier side. I dont know why but mine have done alot better theat way. When I was running super pristine water my rics grew very slow if at all. Our tanks sound pretty similiar as far as equipment goes. would you mind posting a few pics of it either in this thread or email them to me at eyebedam2000@yahoo.com?

mine like bottom of tank, i put all mine down low, sometimes partly shaded, i had one split so that it received no light except what was reflected off the sand, it thrives.

i recently moved them to the top of the tank and bought something called coral fuel and they have been doing great and all of my other corals have colored up alot more as well.
