would rics do ok 24in down from mh lighting in tank with lot of water flow the lower part of the tank where the rock and sand meet doesnt have to much flow but i know nothing about rics.
A MH is a little intense. I keep mine happy in my MH down on the bottom with a little shade from a rock over hang. Once they get used to your MH you can slowly try moving them out into full light. Med to low flow seems to be what they prefer also.
