Riddle me this

I did a quick search and didn't find much on the topic. As comical as the show is, I enjoy occasionally watching the show Tanked, I think some of the tanks they put together are very unique and interesting, even though I really dislike fake corals.

One thing I never understand, and I am not sure if it is the water they are using, but how are they able to immediately put thousands of dollars worth of fish into the tank seemingly immediately? or do you think they are going back later, and making it seem like they are putting the fish in directly?

Obviously they are acclimating them, but with the tanks being brand new, I would expect there to be a cycle, especially since the tanks are going from empty to full bioload immediately.

or am I just :jester:?

If I remember right they are sponsored by natures ocean. So they try to sell the products as full of bacteria and will cause a tank to be instantly ready for fish, though it's not entirely true. I think there are quite a few instances where they have had to remove fish and some of the tanks have ended up being trashed after a couple months.

I think nutri seawater costs about 10 bucks a gallon too so do the math on that for some of those builds.

I like the show too.

There tanks all need professional maintenance.

How they get around breaking them in is beyond me.
