Rinsing new dry sand

I am on a water well. Should I wash my new sand with water that has been through the water softener or should I bypass the softener?

Doesn't matter either way, I suggest using buckets & the outdoor hose, this is a messy process & it takes a decent amount of time to clean the sand thoroughly, very little residual water will be left if you use a strainer or a very fine mesh screen.

This seems to work well but I don't think it's ever going to clear..... lol There's 3 bags in the and it's been going for an hour.....

I used the special grade in an established tank. No rinsing. 45#'s. 15#'s every week.

I was doing some research to add more sand to existing tank and I found this video. I haven't tried this myself, but seems like it may help with cloudiness issue that you are having.

LOL.....I did say this was not a short process, it will eventually clear, looks like you have a good setup there, good luck to you.
