Rio Mini Sun LED Light Deep Blue Sea

Do you guys have any thoughts on this light, or pics of it running on a tank as a moonlight?

I fired one up, it's darker than actinics but too bright for a moonlight IMO. Great design and a wonderful price.

Thanks for the reply. Bummer about being too bright for a moonlight though. Thought I had found the perfect product for my setup!

I didnt say that it couldnt be used as a moonlight, just that in my opinion it was too bright for a moonlight. However, if you have a 6 foot tank and used 1 of these rio pendants in the center, that may actually work.

Right, I got ya. Yeah, I have a 20" cube, so with all of those LED's, I think you're right and its going to be too bright for my sized tank.

Yeah buddy, on a 20" cube, I'd have to say it would be way too bright for use as a moonlight.

Thanks, I've seen those. I have the disco ball pendant and have been trying to find a way to mount some moonlights, which is why I thought the Rio was perfect. I may see if I can mount those somehow to a clip on light from walmart or something. Thanks for the suggestions.

No problem. You could easily mount one of these to a clip (fan, light, whatever) as you suggested. No worries! This photo looks large, but really the light is just 1.5" x 1.5" so it's very small and easy to place.
