well, with a 4 year old and a 5 year old it was only going to be a matter of time before it happend. somehow :rolleye1: my camera managed to get broken. the intruder only attacked this one item; everything else went unmolested.
according to what all data I can find online, something is jammed inbetween the telescoping lense housings. I've taken apart what all I feel comfortable with and still cannot fix it.
While I'm really wanting a Cannon Digital Rebel, I know our finances are limited in this matter. anyone have a "point and shoot" camera that they might recommend?

I have a nikon coolpix s230 that I like. The pics are good quality the screen on the camera isn't to great. It's touchscreen that works really well.

They are running about $150 at Wal-Mart right now.

sorry to hear that barret ... I hope you find a good camera that meets the financial .. go look under marty's thread.,.. there are some suggestions and links people have posted on camera's .. that's if you haven't seen it yet .. Good luck with looking for one!

Thanks Darleen (I'm terrible at spelling so if thats wrong, please don't sick the hubby on me). I noticed the camera was dead when I tried to take a picture of my newest (and LONG overdue) investment; an ReefKeeper Lite v3. It's soo darn pretty. Now, not only is my problem setting up said controller, but trying to pay for a new camera. Granted, this one was 4 years old (bought new when Merrick was born), but I like to buy stuff that is in the "Good" to "Great" range because i don't plan on buying another for many years.
All that being said, I might have to open up the tank for more fragging!

we still have our fugi fine pix s1000 it was and still is a good camera , we payed about $280 when it was new, if you wantt to check it out let me know

If you are looking for a low price family camera, then you should check out this one. My wife likes it and gets decent pics. Hard to beat Optical Image Stabilization and over 12MP Canon for $129. If it gets messed up by they kids, it didn't cost enough to off them.
