RMS on tank with black trim

Hey,

Does anyone have any images showing how the RMS mounts to a tank with a black trim piece? Im looking for an image of the mounting location itself.

(First time trying to post a pic... Hope this works.)

Here's how I'm setting mine up on my new 90g...
My issue right now is that they lean in towards the center of the tank. So from the side they don't look straight (parallel with the trim). I was going to post a new thread to see if others are having the same issue, but I'll tag along here to see what I can find out.

I think I'm going to have to modify the RMS's by adding a spacer to level them out. I need to see how they look once I get my canopy on. They will be slightly above the open top of the canopy, but since they are so close, I think the tilt will be even more noticeable. Maybe I'll just move up the timeline for building a new canopy... (yeah, another project!)

i'm having the same problem as well. wasn't sure if it was by design or not!

I think I'm going to try to shim it somehow, probably with some thin acrylic that I have on hand, to see if I can get them level. I'll let you know...

Finally got back around to working on this project... I used some thin plastic strips cut from a sheet of plastic. It's about a quarter to maybe 5/16ths thick with three pieces held together with Teflon tape. I used the Teflon so I could put a small dab of super glue on it so it would stay in place. If I decide to undo this one day, all I have to do is scrape off a little tape and glue to get back to the original setup. Its pretty close to level... Not perfect, but definitely a workable solution. I'll post another pic of the lights. (Coulda sworn I knew how to add multiple pics to a post... Grrrrr.)
