ro/di repair

I was filling up my trash can with nice clean water in the laundry room (ro/di system setup) when I hear a load swishing sound. The drainage line from the ro/di had disconnected and water was everywhere. It flooded my laundry room and messed up my dryer- there was sparks and everything. I tried connecting it again and it seemed alright, but when I turned it on again, the drain line flew out - more water:mad2: Does anyone know how to repair the line? Should I replace the whole line? I don't want another flooded room.
Thanks, Adriana

Sounds like a fitting may be cracked. If this the case, a new fitting would be a lot cheaoer than a new system. With your dryer in there, you may wish to invest in a GFCI outlet so you don't injure yourself.

Its probably just a John Guest type quick fitting. Are you sure you had the 1/4" tube inserted all the way in? Trim the end of the tube so you get a nice fresh squared off end and try reinserting it tightly, give it a little tug to make sure it has caught and will not come out. If it is cracked or comes out you can get new fittings at most HD or Lowes in the plumbing section.

Also blow through the tube to make sure it is not plugged up. Sometimes if they are installed incorrectly they can get debris collecting around the end causing a restriction.
