Ok i have had my tank set up for about six months and im about to change out the CC that i made the mistake of buying with some live sand. as of now i dont own a RO unit and algae is starting to bloom so i think i need one and i figured while im changing the CC i should do a big water change any suggestions on a RO unit that wont break the bank

How much is 'breaking the bank'? You can get an exceptional unit for around $150.

Make sure you get a DI stage on your RO unit. It will really help. Check out www.thefilterguys.biz They have a 5 stage RO/DI for $160. Well worth it.

well i was looking at the coralife unit for $175 so $150 isnt breaking the bank

I also ordered the Ocean Reef +1 from the filterguyz. Very nice unit. My only suggestion is once you get the unit, give the canisters a little twist with the wrench to ensure it doesn't leak. Other than that, you are good to go. My TDS reading are 9 after RO and 0 after DI. It's been only 2 weeks since I installed it and have since made over 300g of H20.
