On Monday the 25th we received live rock to add to our new 15 gal tank to start the cycle. It was in the mail for 5 days. After unpacking it we discovered a small rock flower anemone (as ID'd on another thread). We placed it on a small fragment of rock in a lower flow area of the tank. Since adding it, the anemone has moved off the rock and dug into the sand underneath the rock with very little of the central disk visible. It does contract occasionally but its tentacles only move during this contraction and not at any other time (they aren't billowing constantly). It was the size of an eraser tip when we found it and is now the size of a quarter (it's difficult to tell for sure due to its location). Since we weren't expecting to have an anemone so soon we are not very informed on how to keep one alive, let alone during the cycle.
What can we do to try keeping it alive? Does its behavior sound normal? Should we start feeding? If so, what? Thank you for any input.
