i have asked the experts myself, the best i could come up with is a Clathrina coriacea. however, even a sponge expert will tell you its impossible to tell what kind of sponge it is without looking under a microscope. even then its not easy, and sometimes still impossible to ID. just know its safe, and slow growing.
