Rod's Food

I know we all have mixed feelings about this product. But for those of us who swear by it...I just got word that it is fully in stock at CF.

As a testimonial...i was using standard frozen....everybody in tank, coral and fish alike...doing just fine....even the Mandarin. However, when i switched to Rod's food, colors popped, fish got fat, corals became fully extended when feeding...things were thriving, not just existing. About a month ago, I was not able to get Rod's food. In the interim, going back to the regular frozen, i actually noticed the difference in the behaviors of my tank inhabitants. So I drove to Buffalo to get some. When i put that in the tank, everyone went crazy, like they had been starving. There is also a difference in my water quality with the use of Rod's food, my parameters seem to remain much more stable.

I use the Original, Aggressive and Fish eggs (for corals as a once a month treat). And I have mad growth in my tank and super healthy fish.

I think I use the standard formulation for my mandarin. I jam it into the rock for the mandarin to find hopefully before the clownfish are able to locate and dislodge it. How do you feed your mandarin?

that's funny. With the Rod's food all I do is hold it at the top of the tank...shake it around, some falls away...4 of my fish come to take it right out of my hand...one of the mandarins included. I got lucky.

My fish and corals go nuts for rods too. I actually had to remove the large serpent star from the reef tank and put him in the aggressive tank. He used to be very skiddish. all you would ever see were a couple tentacles protruding from the rocks. When I started using rods he would come all the way out and very frantically try to get the rods food. Unfortunately he would knock over and disturb everything in his path.

I love the stuff. I mix in some mysis two times a week for the corals. I rinse the mysis with RO and freeze it in a zip lock. My buddy works at a seafood place so im gana play with some homemade food.

picked up the Original and the fish eggs today at CF. They have a good supply on hand. Also...first time since they have had the frag of enchino in the 120g display...it extended 2" to grab the Rod's fish eggs. Had to go up there to see it for myself. Incredible.
