Room Under Tank

I was deciding to use the stand that the tank is on now: it's about 250 gallons or so but I only have 25 inches clearance from the floor to the bottom of the tank. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas what to do filtration wise besides building a taller stand.

I'm more worried about the foam fractionater!!!!

Build a perimeter base for the stand to sit on? then cut out the bottom of the stand if it has one.
or
Get an external skimmer and run it beside the tank or in a nearby closet.

I guess the skimmer is the only real worry? I'd hate to have to rebuild the stand and yet that always seems to come up. guess I should just get some wood and make it happen. LOL

If the tank is comfortable to view on s stand that high and you dont want to rebuild it you'll have to locate your skimmer elsewhere. I like my tank taller then the average stand so I dont have to hunch over infront of it to look in. I built it at around 38" tall which gives me something like 35-36" underneath the stand to fit in all my extra equipment. Best thing I ever did You'll welcome the room underneath, especially if you are like me and want to keep things neat and clean looking, no equipment visible
