rose BTA coloring

so my rose BTA (might be a rainbow since it's got green, red, and some pink/purple on the tips) has lost some of it's vivid coloring from when i first got it. it's turned more to a tan-red and i was wondering if there was any way to reverse this to get the coloring back. it's very healthy and actually split a month ago, both are doing very well...except for the coloring of course! any advice/help would be much appreciated, thanks!

They will sometimes change color due to changes in lighting or water conditions. In most cases there is nothing you can do.

What lighting do you have?

lighting is definately a factor in coloring, however, water conditions also play a part in color...you state your nem is healthy and then split...spliting can be caused by stress and unhealthy water conditions....

how old is your system, what type of lighting and what are your water parameters?

i check the water parameters weekly and they are always right where they should be with the occasional drop in Ca (to about 390). my lights are Eco Tech Marine's Radion XR30w. and i bought the tank from someone who gave me everything (rock, sand, water, pumps, filtration, sump, stands, tank) and he had it running for a couple years (he said). it's been running with me for 6 months now. i do water changes 2x/month and i feed them 2-3x/week with krill. also the tank is a 60g tank, i don't think i mentioned that the first time.

i'm a space case sometimes, completely forgot! with regards to water quality...i said my Ca is usually the one that drops a tiny bit, my frickin' pH is NEVER above 8.0, for the most part it's at 7.8. i've tried major water changes and adding buffers. i don't know if that might have something to do with it, but forgot to mention that in the post above.

if your running a skimmer, is there anyway to have the air line intake pull in outside air? (like thru a window?) I had a real hard time with my pH years ago staying over 8 as well and someone told me to try that and it worked for me...

i don't think i could pull from outside a window, it's not exactly that close to anything. i'll look into maybe pulling more air from the room in though?
