Rotifer question

In Memoriam
I have a rofiter culture growing in greenwater. It says online that after 3 days, I need to use a sieve and capture about 1/3 of them.

The tank they are in is a 10 gallon tank.

What do I do with the 1/3 that I capture? Destroy them? Release them into my reef tank?

Start another batch to C.Y.A. if this one fails. feel free to feed them to your reef or grow some brine shrimp.

i really wasnt kidding about the fridge they will last 2 weeks and it can be used in a pinch or as a back up culture.

That is some smart thinking.

I just split mine after 3-4 days, but still need the clown
eggs to hatch or split again, lol.

I started with only half (or less) of the liter bag of rots.

if you feed them at 014ppm
and split up a culture.
4 days lead time you will have all you need.

I keep them growing even when I'm not expecting larva and just feed them to my reef at nights.

Just curious, do you turn off your skimmer/overflow/main pump when feeding rots?
I am culturing them, but will have some excess and was ready to feed my display too.

I do-but then I only do a wet only skim a few days a month.
I feed @ night somtimes I prime the corals with some mark weis black powder-man the opens up coral-then add my rots 15 min later.
Oh yeah I catch them with a plankton net-never add your culture water to your tank.

I have a 4inch wide and 8 inch long PVC 53um sieve to harvest.

I will start to dose my reef display after I see how many clown larva I get tonight.

Thanks
Rob
