Rough week

Well at the end of last week one of my torch corals succumbed to brown jelly disease. I tossed it immediately. Well this week I lost another large torch, a favia and an acan. A blasto was slightly damaged but I did an iodine dip and it and two other acans and it /they appears to be doing okay. I have done some reading and found my high nitrates (trying to get them under control) combined with some damage to a coral may have started this slide. At this point I am hoping I have reached the bottom and I am on my wasy out of this issue...[emoji22]

It happens. I lost thousands of dollars worth of acros I had been collecting over the course of a weekend. It hurts even more when it's a sucker punch!

Sorry about your loss. Hang in there. Unfortunately from what little I know and have read is not if it will happen but when will it happen in this hobby. It sucks.

Around this time last year I lost 90% of my tank due to a seven second heart pause. The fear of losing sps while tenting for termites caused stress. The stress triggered a heart pause that put me in the hospital four days. Meanwhile the tank sat wrapped in plastic all four days. The tenting did not harm anything but the four day delay killed it. I have taken my time to clean up, made some changes and will re-launch officially at the upcoming one year anniversary of the loss. Promised myself not to stress and not to give up.
Don’t forget to breathe. It is a hobby after all.

Thanks forvthe support and words of encouragement. I am taking a breath. Working on reducing the nitrates. I'll where it takes me.

Lulio- Why didnt you tell us about this? You know we love you man......

Deep-reef- we havent announced it yet, we will be soon, but the March meeting will be about De- Nitrators. Might be worth the visit.

Dang Lulio, just read this. Hope your doing better.

Lulio is a fool- :uzi: all he had to do was call one of us while he was in the hospital.

Im sure his place would have in-undated with volunteers. :wavehand:
He forgets how capable this community is about helping others.

Not to highjack this thread.
Rogger, this happened a year ago Feb. 28 I did not post here but told tell the story so many times that lost track of who I told. I will give you a call.
Eddie, you are right and wish I had. Sadly I need to inform you that I have gone all LED, finished the stand and rearranged my rock work. Wanted to finish 100% rebuild by 2/28/15 but I am a couple of weeks behind schedule.
