Royal Gramma and Tomini not getting along

What would be the best way to try and get them to be able to get along? These fish just battle with each other the whole time that the lights are on. They posture at each other constantly. The only time they get along is whne i am feeding them. Would adding a couple more fish help? Or what would be a good way to change this up?

What size tank are they in? How long have they been in there together? What are the other fish tankmates?

Sorry i probably should have listed all that. Its a 55 gallon tank with a moderate amount of rock work. They have been in the tank together for a little over a week. The only other fish in the tank is a yellow watchmen goby.

I have a Royal Gramma and Tomini Tang housed in my 140gal and have had no issues between them for two years. Royal Gramma was in first 4 yrs ago. My Tomini did pester my two spot Blennie to death, but this is a common problem with Blennies and Tomini Tangs since they have a similar diet (although my recent introduction of a Flame Angel has gone well & my TT has left the Flame to graze freely). I am assuming Flame Angel is tougher then Blennies and thus TTang can't bully him? As long as both fish are eating they should work it out:love2:

Robka: Those were my thoughts also. They both eat really well. I just hate seeing them bicker with each other the whole time. I was thinking if i put another fish or two the TT would maybe just forget about the Gramma since a couple new guy showed up.

Just, Be very careful with any similar diet fish (like Blennies). If you want another grazer, I would stick with dwarf angles in a tank of that size. My Flame Angel is beautiful, has left my corals alone, and is getting along well with TT. If you can move live rock around, the change in scenery will sometimes curb fighting between tank mates, as well:fish1:

A dwarf angel would be a good choice for trying to change the tank dynamics as they are such active fish.

What kind of corals are you planning on keeping? If it's going to be a LPS tank or have clams I'd think hard about a centropyge. If it's a fish only I'd definitely have a dwarf in every tank.

I dont think i am going to do a dwarf because i have Zoas, a Frog spawn, a Torch and also an open brain.
