Hello,
I was wondering if someone could help me with some issues I am having with red people eaters. Every time I get a frag it shows great growth for about 2 months then it just melts away. this frag grew from 1 polyp into six in a month. I don't have this prob with any other zoas. Of course, as you can probably guess, I really like RPE. These are my parameters:
Ammonia- 0
Nitrate-0
Nitrite-0
Phos-undetectable
salinity-1.24-1.26
Calcium-380 (a little low)
Alk-8-9.5 (salifert test)
I dose vodka and feed heavily. I am at a loss because everything else is doing great. I recently had a zoa eating nudi problem but I solved it with Flatworm exit. Have not seen any nudis in a month. Plus I thought they didn't touch the people eaters. I did lift the frag and saw a large number of pods under the polyps. Also a small snail like creature. Unfortunately I didn't take pics.
I had them placed on the bottom of my 55 but the light is still intense (2 aquaillumination gen II units). I have moved them into a more shaded location. My former frags were in high light, high flow areas. The surviving frag is in a lower light-lower flow area now. Any suggestions?
