It won't turn into a true GPE (from the zoaid link), IME. It is another morph that was called GPE at one point, but wasn't the true's. I've had numerous pieces of the morph Cody posted and they have all done different things, but within a finite group (though the group seems to grwo a little every once in a while). There are also RPE's and 'true RPE's'. In both cases, the 'trues' have a dark section around the mouth, making the slit mouth stand out more. The others have colors up to the mouth.
These all look the same at some point. Notice the whitish polyps in the last pic. Those are similar to what are named Billy Clubs from zoaid, so add another name to the list.
Back left is the same frag a few weeks later with a little more color.
These are not from the same frag, but show more of the variation in that strin of Z. gigantus.
Note the pinkish white ring developing-yet another potential color change.
RPE's from high lighting. This strain of RPE varied in color from bright red to this deep purple color, but all came fro the same colony and were subjected to different light levels (and inherent differences in different tanks with the same husbandry techniques).
These are the same, but just after I got them (so they weren't used to my lighting yet).
Frag from the same colony under just VHO's.
'True' RPE's
Zoas are some of the most variably colored corals I've seen...
