Is RTV gasket maker safe to use on parts that contact tank water? I need to replace an o-ring on the collection cup to neck joint of my RLSS skimmer, and an RTV gasket would actually seal better than the o-ring did anyway.
I believe most RTV gasket maker is silicone based, but I was wondering if the other additives might cause any pollution in my tank. After is cured I doubt it would but none of the specs I could find list performance in saltwater or if it would leach in it.
Any folks with experience with using this stuff in aquaria?
