Run skimmer during cycling?

Hi guys

I have a reefer 450 and I'm using only dry rock, sand ( nothing live ). I'm ghost feeding the tank to get the cycle started. My question is should I run the skimmer or not?

I would run it the last couple of weeks of the cycle (start it when the ammonia drops to zero) to break it in, there isn't really a good reason to run it sooner.

I agree running it any earlier is a waste. There is nothing to pick up. Good luck

Agree with the above. It's a good time to break it in and be ready for when it's time to add fish.

Other than just being a waste of energy. Will it slow down the cycle process??
