anything around the house that can be used to loosen up rusty nuts/bolts, I ruined my faucet trying to install my RODI today so I have to replace it, but its all rusted to hell under there

I dont have wd40

A can of spinach or try some KY.

Strictly speaking on what you would normally find in Bigmayreefers house.

KY would probably actually work on a rusted bolt.... ill have to try it at work tomorrow! you could try spitting on it- thats what steve does

Kroil, Liquid Wrench, torch. Or did you mean your house?

Try lightly tapping around it with a hammer and screwdriver or nailset.

so I went and bought some liquid wrench and soaked the thing

one of them loosened the other did not, I had to beat teh living hell out of it to force the bolt head through the hole, the nut would not move

I finally got the faucet out of the counter but the nut and bolt remain permanently rusted together

nice advice peewee

Nut spliting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Are you kidding. It might be hard to get the nut spliter around the big nuts in the tight space. Be sure to use a flash light. Don't tighten to much you might brake the shaft. If your wife don't care about it she might just want to brake the shaft off and through it away and replace it with a better one.

yeah, when installing the RODI yesterday I twisted the copper lines to the faucet, so the faucet needed to be removed and replaced, the rusty bolt was the one holding the faucet to the sink

there's no way I could fit anything large up there, so like I said I beat the crap out of it all until it broke through and I got it out and installed the new faucet

now IM going to go with hose hook in the bathroom for the RODI and not do any under sink install

Under the sink, who would know. Deny you did it. After you close it and remove the ro/di unit there's really no reason they would even spot it.
