Hey everyone,
For the gig aficionados among us, I've had a gig for over 8 years now, and one thing has always confounded me. When I got the nem it had a partially bleached look, very short tentacle nem under compact florescent lights and low flow in a LFS.
I brought it home and it's color improved over time etc. But when I first got it, it's mouth and a ring around the mouth was a rich yellow color. That yellow mouth color dissipated over a very short time and it has been white / translucent for many years. Anyone know what causes the yellow mouth? I see it on every S. Gigantea picture, even when they're otherwise not doing well it seems. But not on mine anymore.
I'd love to help get that back if it's a sign of health in some way.
Since I don't have a recent pic handy, here's one of my nem from years ago. You can just kind of see the mouth is more white than yellow 3/4 down to the left of the nem. Just to the left of the bottom center fold.
