Sabea in a cave????

Hi All and Merry Christmas,

Woke up todday to find my 5mth in the tank Sabea has headed deep into a lower cave. Should I be worried on this behavior? He had been in roughly the same location for the past 3 months, have added some new leathers and polyps in the last 30 days but they have been on the other side of the tank. The problem if I need to recue him is I can reach his location. All the rock work is epoxyed (Engineer Goby) and the tank is 24" deep. He is right on the sand/rock interface, looks healthy, fully inflated and good color. Bit he is so far back I cannot target feed him.

Will he move back on his own? And is this normal behavior?

The groups wisdom is much needed here.

Thanks
Ron

Who knows why they move. They just do. Something was probably irritating him where he was.

I have found, thru the years, to leave them be and let them go where they want. I could't see a RBTA clone for almost 4 months before he came out of hiding. Still healthy. As far as feeding, he will capture enough to survive. If not, he will move where he can.

He may not be where you want him, but if he's healthy, should be fine.

I would think that you should leave him where he is and find a different method to target feed?
Maybe try some of those long pincers or forceps and spot feed him? Some of the nice long ones have curved tips and can reach into little caves.
Otherwise I would think he would come out when he gets hungry.
