Sad loss for me today

Apparently my RBTA got into the intake of my closed loop. I found it in many pieces scattered about my tank when I got home from work today. I really thought that I had the intake fixed where that would never happen. I have a double intake with a strainer on each side. The RBTA has been moving around the tank for a week or so now, so I guess it just couldn't find its happy place.

IME you may have lost the one but may end up with many smaller ones.

I was kinda wondering about that, becasue there are quite a few small pieces in there with tentacles that still have good color. I don't mind having one, but I really don't want more, so I guess we'll see what happens.

Sorry to hear that, I thought it was doing well and the clowns were starting to notice it. Maybe one or more pieces will recover. I have decided if I ever get an anemone it will go into a tank specifically designed to house it.

SO sorry to hear that!

It will be interesting to see how many little bits make it.

I only had that happen once and it was the split portion that went into the overflow and got into the skimmer pump. Still remember the white cloudy water and the awful smell.

Yech!

I was really surprised that my water quality does not seem to have changed at all. Its not cloudy or anything. I had heard that they do that to the water, so guess I somehow just got extremely lucky. Anyway, just in case, I've got some water ready to do a water change if necessary.

Mine done something similar in my overflow and into my sump. It was in 3 pieces in the sump. I got them out and put them into the tank and now I have 3 more RBTAs. Give them a chance you never know!

Yes that .... and it's the walking (don't know if was after midnight) that got the nem in trouble in the first place.
