Saddleback Butterfly with receding lips

My Saddleback Butterfly's teeth are showing at the tip of the mouth. It's as though the lips have receded a little bit at the end of the mouth and the teeth are showing (more noticeable on the bottom teeth). There may also be a very faint red streak between the mouth and eyes, but not sure. Is this a bacterial infection or does anyone know what else it could be?

Thanks.... Scott

Can you post a picture? There are some bacterial species, such as Flexibacter maritimus in salmon at least, that cause very specific lesions associated with the mouth of fish (aka "mouth rot" - or more formally Bacterial Stomatitis). Difficult to say whether of not your fish has such a lesion as I've never read about associated with tropical fish. In salmon, were I have dealt with it, the disease can be difficult to treat but fish do seem to respond to sulphonamide-based antimicrobials. Jungle's Antibacterial Medicated Food contains related actives so you give it a try (although you fish might not eat it!).

Hope this helps.
