When a person says, "you get what you pay for", they are are generally speaking about quality. I wasn't referring to buying a particle brand cheaper at different locations. I was referring to buying an inferior salt compared to a quality salt. Yes - the great salt debate. It's been beat to death in other threads and not really sure if we even need another one but ask yourself the following.
Is my salt a homogeneous mix?
Does my salt mix cloudy with a remaining precipe?
Does my salt form a brown scum on the surface when aerated?
Does my fresh salt mix yield positive results for nitrates or phosphates (even though the bag says it doesn't have any).
Does my salt mix test out for all specific ions or do I need to add supplements even prior to use? (buffer, CA, MG, etc)
If you answered yes to any of the above - you might want to take a look at other brands.
How much does your salt really cost you when you add in the cost of supplements?
