saltwater!!

Reptile tanks are sometimes made with thinner glass. If not, then you should be OK. Sanitize with a very weak bleach solution. Rinse and rinse using lots of declorinator until the bleach smell is gone. Fill and let stand for a few days with more declor., and your good.

Cleaning it will not be the problem. Was the tank specifically made for reptiles? If so, it may not be structually stable to hold water.

As long as it is an aquarium and not a terrarium, you should not have a problem. May sure you thoroughly clean it with a mild bleach solution. If the tank held water, use a mild muric acid solution to remove any calcium deposits and you should be fine. Be sure to rinse thoroughly.

In my opinion, don't cut corners and do it right. When you get more and more money invested(cause you know how salt water tanks can get). You should not go back and complain that "I should have done something different."
