i am setting up my 210 and i might not put sand in it what should i use to cover up the glass bottom with? and is it a bad thing to not use sand? The reason i am not going to put sand in it is because there is going to be lots of flow and its cost alot.

Thanks

I'm planning on switching to BB in a couple weeks. After reading through the forums...I'm going with 3/4" starboard on the bottom. Looks good and adds great protection.

I am planning a refurbish on my 120 sps and was going to go with a bb, but I just can't get past the natural look of sand bottom. So out with the 5" dsb and in with 1' to 2" of natural sand. I believe a good lumberyard can get the starboard for you, check the web for starboard. It is used commercially for a lot of purposes.

I started a thread a few days ago called starboard? There is some good replys there. Just go online and do a search for cutting boards or starboard. It's usually white and actually looks really sharp. It all gets covered with coraline eventually anyway. I"m actually really excited about my switch...after seeing some pics of BB starboard in action I'm not so turned off by BB tanks.
