OK so I have decided to switch the crushed coral for sand, not sure which type yet, still waiting for reply. (sugar or courser)
I have had the live rock, 50 lbs say, in there for over two months, and the tank running for years. Since it is a 155, and removing the crushed coral will be removing a lot of the "life", I am thinking of leaving the sponges or pad on the overflows be and not clean them out to leave some bacteria in the tank. Them, along with the bio balls, live rock and blue filter pad in sump, Im hoping that's enough to make the transisiton. Any thoughts on this, or do I go all out and clean out everything including pads?
