Im thinking about add some sohal grass to my main display. The question is will i be able to keep my cerith/nassarius snails and sand shifting star? I have 2-3in of play sand in the 180G.

This is a really good question. I have a few snails that burrow and havent had trouble, but my shoal grass stands are very well established. Are the stars and Nass snails really large? You could use small clear plastic plant pot liners (they catch the excess water, find them at any hardware store) to put the plants in so that they can establish in relative peace without being uprooted by the snails.

Eventually if the seagrass is doing well in the tank the burrowing critters wont be able to dig into the bed for all the roots in the sand.
