Hi
I got my first sand shifting starfish yesterday
The transition to the tank seems to have gone ok and this morning he was climbing up the glass at the front of the tank quite happily, however when I looked a couple of hours later instead of having 5 legs he now has 3 and 2 bits only, he is moving around quite quickly and climbing over the rocks this evening with no apparent problems. I have 5 reg legged hermits, 4 blue legs, 2 turbo snails, 2 soft coral only in the tank, although 2 of my red legs are very large indeed, what could have done this to him and will his little legs re-grow?, might he get an infection?, should I treat him, and if so what with?.
I am new to this and am worrying about Mooney my starfish can anyone help me with this.
I added 'Purpel Up' last night
Added Marine Snow this morning
I also did a water change yesterday.
I have a 220 Ltr Tank, 25ltr water change with RO Water
Tonights readings are:
PH between 7.8 - 8.00
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 40
Calcium 400
Carbonate Hardness 214.8
Phospahte 0.25
Can anyone let me know how to help mooney
Thanks in advance
