Sand Trade?

why doesn't someone get one of those group sand thigs going?
I saw a thread a year ago where there were about 50 more/less reefers send sand plus return postage to one dude...this dude collected all the sand, put int all together, mixed it for a couple weeks or so (i think that long, maybe more), then sent out a bag of sand to everyone that sent him a bag. Does anyone remember that or know what the heck I'm talking about?!
Supposedly that helps tons, since it totally increases your biodiversity in your sand.
One stipulation was that you had to make sure that your sand was pest free, or at least try to make sure.

I didn't notice any new life from my sand... at all. :-(
My sand was already live and I'd thrown in lots of diverse rock, so I already had pods and stuff.
If you ever come to the West side I'll trade you some sand from an existing tank. Lots of life in there - not uncommon to see pods and mysid.
