Sandbed got stirred up too much...problems?

Last night I did a water change on my 55 and everything was fine. I woke up this morning and my SEIO had somehow dismounted itself and landed in the sand. A good 4" by 12" section of sand was all over the tank and bare bottom around the powerhead. All of my corals and clowns are fine thankfully, but I wonder if this is going to cause a phosphate spike or something of that nature. Any thoughts? I have a shallow sandbed to begin with.

Check your ammonia levels. When this happens in my tank i add prime to counter the possible ammonia spike.

But everything should go back to normal in a few days.

Think of it as a storm belw through the tank..it's good to mix it up a little every now and then :-) Jsut keep an eye on your levels like Aneal mentioned, and keep your skimmer running :D

Gotcha, I gave all of my prime to my brother in law for his pond...hope he still has some left. Thanks for the input guys.

That's happened to me before, just do another water change soon. You'll be fine, you probably see a bit of algae bloom here and there, but a few water changes would take care of it. Instead of Ammonia, I would be worried more about nitrate.

As long as its a shallow sand bed, you should be fine. :)

Check your ammonia as has been mentioned.

If it was a DSB, you probably wouldn't have a ton of stuff still alive I would think!
