Sargassum

Has anyone ever had a Sargassum fish (Histrio histrio)? If so what kind of luck have you had with it. And what do you feed it? Also can you keep them with any other type of fish. If so what would make good tank mates. Would a dwarf fuzzy lion be ok?

I hade one awsome little guy. Unfotunatley one day i came home and found that a piece of LR fell on him and he died. Great fish though mine ate silversides.

if your talking about the angler they are a great fish adapt readily to frozen kind of takes the fun out of the whole sneak up on it thing but also is one of the hardiest IMO

Syndrome- That sucks how long did you have him before that happend?

aquaman- Yes i seen that thanks but was looking for someones personal expierence. As to possible problems people have had if any.

Carson- Yes im talking about the angler. yeh it takes the fun out of it but a guy could always by one or two peppermint shrimp every once in awhile for a treat.

I used to threaten my girlfriend's misbehaving freshwater fish with a volitan before. Same logic applies, guppies or other live feeders let him remember being a fish.

I've never heard of one that once it eats frozen will NOT eat live. Plus it IS fun to watch. You can always explain to your LFS what you are up to and ask them if they have any "evil" damsels or similar that need to be reintroduced to a higher rung of the food chain.

Carson- I was just looking threw you pic gallery i see you had a pic of a stone fish. Where did you find one of them at? Are they hard to keep alive?

that was a false stonefish I got him where I work had him eating frozen within a week pretty sweet fish lost him do to the walking batfish dieing and no the coral banded lived with the angler for 2 months before being electrcuted by a stupid nano cube.
