Just got it last week and set it up. No leaks , no constant adjustments and no co2 build up  . I am happy with its construction. It is easy to change out the media due to the reaction chamber being removable and it has a drain for easy water removal. I have not had time to install the probe into the holder but that is also a nice feature. I like the media due to less chance of clogging. Overall I am happy. I was tired of the co2 buildup and constant fiddling with my last two reactors.
where did you get yours from?
i'm thinking of ordering from fins reef and getting the co2 bottle and CO2 Regulator Deluxe - Dual Gauge with Solenoid from marine depot.
I dont need a bubble counter bc the jetstream already has one right?
does it come w/the eheim pump or do i have to order separately?
does it have the ph probe holder in it too?
I bought mine from Fins Reef and got a good deal. The Schuran includes the bubble counter and Eheim pump. You will need to rig up something for the pH probe holder. I can't wait to hook the bad boy up tomorrow.
I bought mine off a fellow reefer. I think fins is the cheapest at $409 but it does state they are out of stock. Marine depot is a great place to purchase the additional equipment. There is a bubble counter included with the schuran but you never know if you do decide to change reactors. The bubble counter on the regulator might come in handy. It does come with the eheim recirculating pump but you either have to t off the return line (how I have it setup) or have some kind of pump to feed the reactor.
If you look at the picture of the reactor, there is a blue ball valve where the probe is inserted. I think you may have to purchase an additional part which I am currently researching. I think some people don't buy the part but diy.
I do like it better. I had to fiddle with the 1502 alot. Maybe I just didn't have it setup correctly. You can get the Schuran for cheaper than fins at the following place.
Well, the reactor comes with a little ziplock bag full of the large media (as an example) and specifies to only use this size media. I am guessing caribsea arm will not function properly in it.
You can burn through the media pretty fast especially if you run the effluent at 6.2 as recommended. I believe that is why the jetstream 1 is rated up to a 800 gallon tank. The one in the picture looks nothing like my reactor but the media is the same. Thank goodness the media is around $5.00 for just over 2 pounds.
That is an MTC Pro. I have one and its the best in my opinion. Not cheap though. It take about 20lbs of media which I use up in about 2 months. I also use the Florida crushed coral which is $20 for 40lbs and works great!!!
what brand regulator is everyone using?
where can i get co2 tanks, cheap?
What pump should i get to feed the calcium reactor...or should i tap the return line? if i want to put the reactor on a ph controller, what do i need to do?
