Scientific question about SPS and LPS polyps.

I know in nature (the ocean) polyps on corals only extend at night because of predators. How come in an aquarium, SPS an LPS polyps extend during the day? How do they know its safe to extend the polyps when most corals come straight from the ocean?

It's because we feed our fish, and therefore, them during the day.
