Hi everyone! well my Scribble angel has some raised white spots on one pectoral fin and some on his top fin. They are pencil lead size and are white and raised. The LFS said it could be lymph?. I did some checking on Lymph, and read just let it runs it corse and they will fall off. He is very active and eating well, and is in my QT tank. I watched this fish for a week and a half at the LFS before I bought it. Also this morning I noticed I have about the same white spots on the back glass of the QT. Never noticed them before. My trates are high, but everuthing is good. Any ideas?
What should I do at this point? *No spots on fishes body!
Thanks, Terry

After more surfing on the net, I found in Nationalfishpharm.com 2 things it could be.
1. Q: My fish have an off-white looking substance growing on the fins.
A: This is a gram-negative bacterial infection called Columnaris Disease. Some people often mistake this disease as a fungus.

Treatment: Sulfa drugs work well for this. TMP-Sulfa -or- Sulfa 4 TMP -or Triple Sulfa Powder.

or,

2.Q: The fish have small white spots all over their fins.
A: Sounds like the fish has Ich. Ich is usually caused by a drop in temperature. Is this a new fish that was transferred to the tank in a plastic bag? Is your tank in a drafty hallway? Check to see if the heater is functioning properly.

Treatment: Treat the fish with Malachite Green -or- Forma-Green -or- Copper Sulfate. If the fish is a scaless fish, treat the fish with Methylene Blue -or- Acriflavine Neutral.

Im not sure which one to treat. Again, there is no spots on his body. Also I ruled out Lymphocystis Virus because at this stage it looks nothing like that.
can someone help before it gets to far along?

Thanks, Terry

I dont know enough to say one way or the other but I will tell you that there are some good links at the top of this forum that will go into detail about the symptoms of something like ich. Try reading those and see if you can exclude or include that disease in the list of possibilities.

Here are some pics of the Scribble aka "Scrubs" The spot on his rh side of his body is a abbrasion caused by me. but you can see the spots on his RH pec fin and his top and bottom fins. He is active friendly and very good eater.
Any Ideas would be appreciated
Thanks.
