SCUBA trip to Loch Low-Minn

Got tubes?
Hi all!

Just curious...

Would anyone be interested in a camping/diving trip to Loch Low-Minn probably in September or early October?

I'm thinking it may be a really neat trip to take. Two days of diving... maybe 6 dives or so and Nathan's Best hotdogs over the fire. Sounds like heaven to me... :D

I am just wondering how many would like to go.

They have a full shop there I believe. I know they offer rentals as well as air refills. Here are some costs:

Admission: $15
Air Refills: $5
Camping Fee: $10 per person

I would definitely be up for calling to see about group rates if there are a couple of us that would like to go.

What weekends work best for you guys? As far as I know, I should be good just about any weekend we don't have a meeting. :)

Here's a link to a link to a general website and here's a link to the official website.

I will probably call and get more specific info after we see how many would be interested in going. If you'd prefer to only do one day of diving and not camp that should be fine, too. Its only 3 hours away.

Also, if you guys would rather just meet two days in a row at Martha's or something like that, I'm up for it. :) The cool thing about Loch Low-Minn is that they are doing a Paddlefish conservation thing or something of that nature. Kinda interesting. At least a little more interesting than the bluegills and bass at Martha's, but Martha's has the bus, so you know. :D

Whatcha think?

Forgot to also mention... they have a pool for non-divers if they'd like to come along. They also have cabins available for non-campers. I'm just cheap and enjoy camping, so I figured that would be the best route for me...

And they can provide catering, too, for $5 per person, although I think we could probably bring our own hotdogs just fine. ;)

Brandon-
Just wanted to say this sounds like a great idea. I'm wondering if they offer a couple hour refresher course that could get me back in diving shape at a reasonable price so I can at least get a couple under my belt. I'm not foolish enough to believe that I haven't forgotten at least a few important tidbits.

I was beginning to loose hope. :D

I'm not sure if they offer any training. I've got a feeling they don't, but it couldn't hurt to call. I'll shoot my instructors an email. They may be able to offer you something at a good price, too. I do know I have a friend going to Martha's this weekend if you're interested. He's a fellow student, but helps a lot with the instruction and could possibly offer at least a good dive day to get refreshed. :)

I'll let you know what my instructors say. :)

If we went out in a group you would be able to get a do our own refresher all together we could just go under and work on some basic stuff before we go search for lost gold.:) I would love to do this we would just have to pick a day everyone can go.

Awesome Wayne! Glad you're in. :)

FWIW, my instructor has offered to do a refresher for Brian after one of her swim classes. I'm sure she wouldn't mind if there were a couple. :) I will ask beforehand, of course, but you're welcome to use the school's air, bcs, and regs. Would just need your mask, fins, snorkel, and weight belt.

If there's anyone else that would like to, let me know and maybe we could get her a gift certificate to ScubaToys.com or something of that nature. :)

Does anyone have any dates in mind? The first weekend in Sept. is MACNA and the second is the MTRC meeting.
