lost my battle with Bryopsis taking the tank down. On the bright side my wife ok a new Crystal Dynamic eurobrace aquarium with coast to coast over flow and 3 side starfire glass. Tank should be ready in 6 weeks. I can't wait. Going to take the canopy down and replace it with a new canopy style. here is my new canopy that i am planning to make. It'll be a floating canopy hanging from the ceiling.

lost my battle with Bryopsis taking the tank down.

I once battled Bryopsis in a 180 SPS tank for more than a year. It got its start when I added a small NPS tank to the system. Once that stuff gets started it will take the fun right out of the hobby!

Yeah nothing i did help in getting it out. Raised mag with tech m to 2200. Dosing hydrogen peroxide, pruning. Nothing worked it came back with a vengeance.

I gave up when I read one guy from Arizona took his rocks out & put them in the yard in the sun for a week. When he put the rock back in the tank it came back. Guess the thing to do is never let it get started?

I converted that tank to a planted discus tank. Worked all issues out, got the fish I wanted everything was great & the tank started to come apart. I was so fed up I found a home for the fish & gave the tank away. Eventually I built a large terrarium on the stand the 180 sat on. It has 10" of water but is 48" tall. The rest is a big stump, branches & plants.

All this was a few years ago & I'm just now putting together a new Saltwater tank again.

Good luck with your new tank!

Jim
