SCWD in my return?

I have a 90gl tank which has 4 1" holes drilled in the back at the top right on the euro brace piece. I am planning of using these for my return but with a SCWD hooked up to it.

Does anyone see a problem doing this??

Thanks in advance!

The only problem I see is pressure loss. I would think that a 1" return split 4 ways, through 1 or 2 squid is going to lose a lot of pressure. Another thing is, can the overflow keep up with the return gph that you will need to use for four 1" returns.

I used SCWDs a while back. I loved them. One less thing to plug in. Yes you lose some flow but you can't get something from nothing so it's just a cost/benefit analysis.

I actually bought 2 of the 1" SCWDs when they first came out. I eventually broke my tank down and am now doing something different. Let me know if you want to save a few bucks on some new-in-box and never wet units.

I used the 3/4" SCWDs and didn't like them. Huge flow loss and they would freeze up after a few months. Never used the 1" version.

The 1" version can easily be taken apart for cleaning. It's pretty neat and probably done to address the freezing issue of the old 3/4" ones.
