Sea hare does not move:/

I brought home a sea hare and it moves very slowly. It literally has moved about 5 inches from the time I brought it home, 3 days ago, until now. I had another sea hare in the past and it moved A LOT. It roamed my whole tank all day. I lost it to a powerhead. I now have the power heads covered.

Anyhow, the sea hare is on a rock and I can see part of its tail move here and there. It has not shrunk. Is this normal for them...?

I have not seen it lay any eggs.

Also, when I had the other sea hare my temperature was at around 81 because of the lights and it was around summer time...

Now that it is winter, my temperature is at a constant 79.

Temperature is perfect, it's probably just stressed. Every specimen is different in how they adjust to a new home. Sometimes snails will do this too, more often than not mine play dead for 48 hours until they finally start moving.

What kind of sea hare is it?

Sadly, there are certain types that are harvested when they're at the end of their life cycle (hence, easier to collect). Not saying that's what's happening with yours, but knowing the species could help.

I've had 4 sea hares and all of them died within 2 weeks. They all were energetic on the first day, then eventually they ended up slowing down, stopping, then dead. I'm guessing it's just from the stress of being shipped.

No offense, but it sounds like the problem in that scenario was in your tank.

No offense, but I had SPS corals growing just fine, so probably not.
Ok, so I really wasn't trying to offend you, but apparently I did. My comment wasn't intended as a criticism.

The reality is that conditions that are conducive to some things are not compatible with others. It doesn't mean that you aren't doing well by the things in your tank. It was just based on the fact that you said the hares were active on introduction and slowed down over time. Doesn't sound like a collection or shipping issue. As Joe said, it could be a food issue, pH, or any number of other things that can take time to adversely affect an invert.

Seahare care =/= to SPS care. They can sometimes all starve if there is no algea.

I'm well aware that animals need suitable food. There was tons of hair algae that they were munching down on the first day. There was no shortage of food for their duration in the tank.
