sea hare malfunction?

My sea hare has been absolutely normal and fine, eating and pooping like he was destined to do, but now i have this problem and I don't know what it is, how serious it is or what to do??? Please help! I feel bad for him!

That would be its penis, which isn't a good sign. It will probably die within the next day or so.

Thanks, I'll go ahead and get him out and put him in the freezer. I feel so bad for him =( what makes that happen and why is it such a bad sign?
