Hello all, I have a very simple question to ask about a very interesting animal! I would like to know has anyone here ever had a sea hare in their reef? I realy wont to put one in my 55 gallon, but I would like to know do they do a realy good job in the reef aquaria!?
Thanks

If you are talking about the Spotted Sea Hare (Aplysia dactylomela) you should be careful because they shoot out ink when they are threatened. They are from around here in Florida.

If you are interested in those kinds of creatures a Warty Seacat (Dolabrifera dolabrifera) is a much better choice. They are virtual algae vaccum cleaners! I have 2 of them in my reef and they do a great job of cleaning up. And they don't squirt ink when threatened. Not to mention they are a very interesting creature to look at.
