I just picked up a sea hare to help with an outbreak of hare algea. I think its playing dead. It wont move but it feels alive when i felt it. Do they play dead?
If he hasn't moved in 24hrs. He probably is dead. If any other creatures are climbing or picking on him(snails, crabs, fish). He's dead. Get him out before he releases his toxins.
You will soon know if it's dead. I pulled one out of the tank at work day before yesterday. I knew it was dead because it had not moved for 24hrs and it stunk when I got it out ewwww
Sea hares eat red macro algae. My question is....how do I know if it is eating enough or starving. Are there signs to look out for that it is not eating enough?
If there is no algae try target feeding him some nori. I don't think you will see any signs but if there is no algae in your tank chances are he is not getting any food.
