sea horse life question.

I have a male WC reidi that I know for a fact has been in captivity since Feb 2002. I have no idea how old he was when he was caught, but he was adult sized in Feb and had babies in Oct 2002.
That makes him at least 4.5 yrs old.

I also have a female WC reidi which was captured adult sized and sold to me in Sept 2003. She started producing babies right away, and is still doing so. That makes her at least 2.5 yrs old.

Jorge from Draco just mentioned this past weekend (DFWMAS) that the average life span for the larger tropical species was around 4-5 years.

In my research (data mining for articles) I found references to longevity over 7 yrs in erectus SHs dating back to the turn of the century (NY aquarium)

I have 5 WC H. reidi that were brought into captivity as adults over 5 years ago. They are still going strong. I also know of another person with reidi that are over 7 years old.
