Sea Star behavior

I purchased a small red sea star over 2 weeks ago and put him in my display tank. Since then he has not really moved much at all. He crawls up the glass and stays at the top by the water line. I've knocked him down a couple of times when I've done water changes since they are not suppose to be exposed to air, but it crawls right back up to the water line and stays there. Is this normal behavior or a sign something is wrong?

Thanks.

Sounds normal to me, probably just looking for food....and having trouble finding it from the sound of it. Many of my snails stick to the top of the water line as well since that's where alot of the green algae buildsup in my tank.
