ok i am posting this looking for options as to other ppls feeling about this new salt we are using i am thinking this isnt the best salt out there and for me it has caused some problems please let me know what you all think
FWIW my calcium, ph, and alk is more stable now with the Seachem salt than it ever was with the IO salt I was using before. What kind of troubles are you having?
So has anyone else had any probs with the SeaChem Salt??? Just wondering, cause I might buy a few buckets of Reef Crystals and swap every other change if enough people are having problems...
I haven't used SeaChem yet (though I likely will someday) but recently bought a few buckets of the Reef Crystals, and I really like it so far. Dissolves fast and clear. Much more quickly than the Red Sea I had previously been using (but I never had any problems with that either).
Remember, SeaChem is only likely to give you problems if you are trying to achieve NSW levels of alkalinity as was brought up in another thread. Larry's problems may not be related to the salt, there may just be a coincidence there. I spoke to him, but admittedly got lost in the sequence of events during our conversation before it drifted to other topics.
lol Ok... I haven't had any problems, and am switching over slowly... I've always used Reef Crystals in the past, and loved it... Figured I'd help the club get the second pallete so I ended up with 4 buckets of SeaChem... I've already gone through the first, but don't mind mixing if SeaChem is causing problems... Don't think I'm having any alkalinity problems, so I guess I'll stop worrying!!!
